New access control system safeguards pupils

by Andy Clutton

Delta Security is helping to ensure the safety of pupils and employees at the recently opened Gesher School with the installation of a Salto access control and ID pass system.

Based in North London, Gesher School is an independent primary school that caters for Jewish children with special educational needs. It is entirely charitably funded, and currently has ten children who receive specialist care from two teachers, five teaching assistants and four therapists.

The Salto access control solution provides secure and convenient day-to-day access for authorised users, and enables school staff to print temporary ID passes for additional staff and visitors as required. The system’s software is capable of granting and restricting access to personnel according to their authorised area and duration of visit.

The school shares its site with another local authority children’s programme so it is especially important that it is able to restrict access and have a reliable system to ensure it knows who is on site at any time. Reports detailing who has visited the school, and for how long, are available at the touch of a button.

Gianna Colizza, Head Teacher of Gesher Primary School, says the installation went smoothly: “It was critical that the new system was in place in time for the school’s opening,” she says. “Delta Security was able to work around networking issues that arose from it being a new site, to ensure timely completion. The most important thing for us is to ensure we are doing everything we can to safeguard our children. Our new access control system furthers this goal.”
