This footage shows the moment a shopper allegedly attempts to steal a tablet computer in Leigh. The incident took place at computer and laptop store Advanced UK in July.
Three people – one man and two women – entered the store and the man asked the shopkeeper for his mobile phone to be unlocked. CCTV shows the woman hiding the tablet under her jacket but she is seen by the shop keeper and asked to put it back.
Officers say the sting was ‘brazen’ and ‘well-rehearsed’ and involved all three people who were captured on the security camera and have issued a warning to other store owners to be vigilant.
