In this footage (which has sparked some considerable online debate as to its authenticity) taken in Germany at the end of 2016 a pickpocket decides to take a victim’s wallet while he is at a cashpoint. After the robbery the thief stands back to act all innocent when he spots a camera looking straight at him. Expecting immediate justice to be dished out he pleads with the person behind the lens then drops the wallet and alerts the owner as if it had been misplaced. One more prayer to the camera and he’s off.
As mentioned there has been much debate whether the video is genuine as the camera placement looks a little odd for the position of the cash-point.
