IP panoramic cameras gain PADS approval

Bosch expands Network Rail portfolioFollowing a three-month trial at Barking station the Bosch Security Systems Flexidome IP panoramic 7000 MP camera has achieved the Network Rail PADS (Parts And Drawings System) seal of approval.

The busy convergence of overground, and underground, transport networks at Barking mean over 2,000 people per hour pass through the twelve metre wide gate line at peak times. The installation of the camera provides operators a 360-degree overview of the gate line, without any blind spots. Its 12-megapixel sensor resolution improves the overall quality of the video surveillance system.

Built-in video analytics, at Bosch referred to as Intelligent Video Analysis (IVA), help operators by raising alarms when needed and supporting them quickly retrieve the correct data. Content analysis information, in the form of metadata, is stored alongside the video images adding sense and structure to it. Metadata contains details on all objects entering or leaving the monitored scene (full image circle) like speed, direction, colour and much more. Since metadata is kept as a simple text string it is much smaller and easier to search through.
