Amalgamated MD wins Ian Marsh Award

by Andy Clutton

Geoff Teader Award Win IIGeoff Teader, Managing Director of Amalgamated, has won the Ian Marsh Award at the 2015 ECA Annual awards. Sponsored by the Fire and Security Association (FSA), the award recognises individuals who demonstrate enthusiasm and selfless concern for the fire, security and emergency systems industry. It was created in memory of the late Ian Marsh, the ECA’s Technical Manager, who passed away in 2012.

Geoff won the award in recognition of his success with Amalgamated, a business he founded in 1970 and for his long-standing contribution to the FSA.

FSA Chairman Pat Allen said: “Geoff has been a leading light in the industry for more than four decades, building his business from a start-up into one of the leading fire and security services providers in the North West and working hard to further the industry and support its key causes. I’m personally very grateful for his long-standing support of the FSA – both historically and with our recent efforts to develop a Trailblazer Apprenticeship for our industry, where his expertise and enthusiasm have been invaluable.”

Geoff Teader said: “I’m delighted to have won this award. Ian was someone I knew well and worked closely with, so winning an award created in his memory has real significance for me. The industry has changed tremendously over the last 45 years but I’m pleased to have been able to grow Amalgamated without losing site of the values on which the company was founded.”
