Dates confirmed for new security installer event

by Andy Clutton

Supported by IFSEC organiser UBM, Pro-Activ has announced the inaugural SiX event for November 2019 at EventCity, Manchester

Security installers and system integrators are currently experiencing changes in the market, with the shift from hardware to software-based solutions as well as the impact of IoT technologies. While Professional Security Installer (PSI) and Benchmark magazines address the need for installer and integrator focused information, there is no UK trade show addressing this sector, until now…

SiX will be an event aimed squarely at the security installer and system integrator. Running on 5-6th November 2019, SiX will offer a conference programme delivered by experts, not manufacturers or government bodies, alongside an exhibition at EventCity Manchester. In addition, the annual PSI Premier Awards dinner will be held on the evening of 5th November.

“After talking to installers and distributors, we realised that the industry needed an event that focused solely on the requirements of the trade rather than a catch-all show that includes an element of security as one of its points of focus,” said Andy Clutton, Editor of PSI. “While our magazines make installers aware of the innovations and developments in the sector, there is no event that specifically targets their needs. Furthermore the industry requires a trade show in the North of England so that the installers, most of whom are self-employed, can cut down on travel time and make their visit cost-effective.”

With free parking on-site, world class leisure and shopping facilities and over 1000 on-site hotel rooms at TraffordCity, EventCity in Manchester offers a complete package for the SiX experience. For the show itself it boasts the largest conference venue in Manchester, as well as a choice of halls.

“For installers and integrators, the evolving technological landscape presents significant opportunities for growth through the delivery of bespoke solutions,” said Pete Conway, Editor of Benchmark. “However, as well as offering added value, there are also many challenges which must be addressed. Events such as SiX offer a valuable vehicle to help installers and integrators learn more about the potential of new technologies and to ensure they are updated with relevant best practices to ensure systems remain reliable and effective.”

SiX already has the support of the UK’s largest security event, IFSEC. Simon Parker of UBM stated, ‘’IFSEC is delighted to support and partner Pro-Activ in the exciting launch of the SiX event in Manchester. We’ve been listening to our customers in the North and Midlands for a number of years and fully understand the need for a highly targeted regional event, which provides support and guidance for security professionals. IFSEC and Pro-Activ have enjoyed a rewarding, long-standing partnership and this strategic alliance will play to the strengths of both brands. Pro-Activ has a formidable reach and a proven reputation within the installer market and IFSEC is a prominent 44 year-old brand which has provided the global security sector with an unparalleled opportunity to bring buyers and sellers together. Pro-Activ’s media assets such as PSI and Benchmark will provide powerful platforms to communicate and support this new event, and coupled with IFSEC’s exclusive relationships with leading associations such as the BSIA, the overall proposition for this event is hugely exciting.’’
