Relocation to Widnes for Radium Security

by Andy Clutton

Radium Security Paul RobinsonRadium Security Systems has relocated to bigger and newer premises at the Turnstone Business Park in Widnes. With 32 years in the industry, the company provides services from the installation of burglar alarms in domestic homes to the provision of multi-channel security systems for business clients.

“The security business today is very different to the industry I set up the business 32 years ago,” explained Radium Security Systems MD and founder Paul Robinson (pictured). “I was actually a TV repair man when I was first asked to install basic burglar alarms. But the technology has moved on leaps and bounds since then. The equipment and systems we use now are far more sophisticated than the basic burglar alarms of old. Today you can install security systems that enable the customer to link-up with the system via their smartphones.”

“In fact one of the key reasons for our move from our former West Derby base was to find a building that was big enough for us to have separate training facilities. This building provides us with enough space to train new members of staff and provide established employees with updates and on-going training for different systems or new technologies.”

The company is currently looking to recruit six new members of staff and Paul predicts a growing demand for alarms as Christmas approaches: “Burglary numbers often increase in the run-up to Christmas when many homes are packed with Yuletide gifts for the up-coming holiday. When one family gets caught out by burglars you can bet the neighbours will have an alarm installed as quickly as possible!”
