UL joins British Security Industry Association

UL has announced its associate membership in the British Security Industry Association (BSIA).

Through its Standards development, training, testing and certification work, UL is engaged in supporting the full spectrum of security from physical security (hardware/locks, video alarm monitoring, building inspections) to cybersecurity (including specific cybersecurity work focusing on software requirements for security and life safety signalling products).

Specific to the UK, UL has developed and launched Standard UL 293 to enhance building security, and has a dedicated door hardware testing laboratory in Warrington to support UK and regional

Speaking about the membership in the BSIA, UL’s Nigel Talbot, Strategic Account Manager, said, “We recognise the importance of the BSIA to the UK security industry. By being a member we can more actively contribute to the industry and support the companies making the UK a more secure place to live and work. UL’s security engineers and European testing facilities all look forward to collaborating with the BSIA and its members.”
